Herstmonceux Astronomy Festival

This is a 3 day Star Party hosted at the Observatory Science Centre at Herstmonceux – starting on the evening of Fri 1st Sep. On the Sat and Sun daytime EAS will be hosting a stall along with other local astronomy societies. There will be various events, lectures, astronomy equipment retailers and all the other cool things to do at the Science Centre. Great for kids and adults alike.

Special Event: St. Wilfrids Starlight Stroll @ The Redoubt Fortress
Sep 15 @ 7:00 pm – 10:00 pm

Special Event for St. Wilfrids Starlight Stroll

Free Public Observing at the Redoubt Napoleonic Fortress on Eastbourne Seafront.

Observing will be on the Gun Platform with members of the Eastbourne Astronomical Society through various society telescopes. Astronomical presentations will also be available in a downstairs Casement (especially in the case of rain!) and coffees and teas will be available from the Redoubt or Pavilion Cafe.

Anyone can bring along a telescope if help is required to make best use of it.

EAS Members are welcomed to come along and bring their own telescopes.

Enter via the drawbridge from the main road.

Observing will be accessible to children and wheelchair users, albeit up the steep access ramp from the main road.
